The government is pushing for healthier kids but at the same time is purchasing ammonia treated inedible scraps to feed public school kids.
Basically, the US Department of Agriculture, USDA, purchases this “treated” beef from a company called, Beef Products Inc out of South Dakota. The purchased meat, scraps originally intended to use in dog food, are treated to make the beef “edible” again.
What’s worse, is that After Jamie Oliver exposed this practice, most fast food chains stopped using ammonia treated meat in their foods. However, the USDA has made the decision that it’s okay for kids?
